Moraira is a coastal town situated on the north-eastern tip of the Costa Blanca. Its grown from a small fishing village to an attractive holiday resort popular with visitors from all over Europe.
Standing on the stony ground near Moraira Castle shielding his eyes from the glare of the sun is the man looking out to sea, Hombre mirando al mar, by Javea Artist Toni Mari.
Moraira man is a reminder of days past when people stood looking out to sea, watching and waiting for fishing ships to come home in the evening or were posted to watch out for pirates.
To me he's relaxing and enjoying the view. He's certainly a tourist attraction, with many people striking a similar pose with him in their holiday photos.
